THE WORLD OF THE HONEY BEE

 

Aim: To give pupils a strong understanding of honeybee survival, focussing on their life cycle, seasonal activities within the hive, how honey is made and how honeybees are adapted to survive and their benefits to the environment.

 

A strong emphasis on how a beekeeper manages hive throughout the seasons and products from the hive.

 

For pupils to broaden their knowledge on some of the local flora and pollen benefits and how to identify this in the honeycomb.
