BEEKEEPER EXPERIENCES
Fancy getting up close to a hive of honey bees and experiencing the role of the beekeeper, learning all about the fascinating world of these amazing insects? Then our hands-on bee experience might be for you!
Join us on one of our bee experiences and get a feel for what it is like to be a beekeeper!
You will receive an introduction to honeybees and beekeeping from our experienced beekeeper, after which you will be able to put on one of our beekeeping suits and get ‘up close and personal’ with our bees!
You will learn how they work together in their hive and how they produce their delicious honey! After spending time at the hive, you can relax at your personal honey tasting session, learning about this sweet delight, before making your very own beeswax candle to take home!
Your experience will last approximately 2.5 hours and will include light refreshments, souvenir photo, certificate and goody bag from Backyard Bees!
Bee experiences are available on selected dates from May to September and must be booked in advance.
Our honeybee experiences make a great present for Christmas, birthdays or special events. Vouchers are provided after purchase.

The experience price is per person and each experience is to a maximum of 4 people. If you have a larger group please get in touch to see if we can accommodate you. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Due to the nature of the experiences, they are weather dependent. To arrange a date and time, please contact us directly via backyard_bees@yahoo.com and we will do our best to meet your needs. We keep numbers low per experience to ensure that all participants enjoy maximum involvement. Online booking is not yet available.​
Experience vouchers purchased before the end of July can be redeemed​ up to the end of September in the year of purchase. Vouchers purchased from August onwards are valid until the end of September in the following year.
If you have any special requests regarding groups, special occasions, disability access, etc., please contact us so we can try our best to accommodate your needs.
All bookings are subject to availability and must be arranged in advance via email and after receiving full payment a confirmation email and voucher will be sent out, with personalised gift card if requested. We always do our best to accommodate customers where we can but these experiences are very popular and often book up well in advance.
Minimum age for experience 8 years old. Maximum group size per experience is 4 people. Not suitable for individuals with bee sting allergies.
All protective clothing will be provided on the day.
Experiences available May-September, weather permitting. Due to the nature of the experience, booked dates are subject to change if adverse weather forecast.
